Republish My Work

Any outlet can run my reporting for free. Credit me, link back, and keep the facts straight.

The short version

The Terms

  1. 1. It is free for any outlet

Newspapers, TV and radio stations, newsletters, blogs and community groups can all run my articles. There is no fee, and you do not need to ask first.

  2. 2. Credit me at the top

Put the credit line below at the top of the story, with a link to the original article. Online, please also add a canonical link pointing to my original.

  3. 3. Keep the facts intact

You can trim for length and adjust to your house style. Names, numbers, quotes and the meaning of the story stay as I published them.

  4. 4. Carry my corrections

If I correct a story, update your copy. If I withdraw one, take your copy down. A withdrawn story is no longer covered by these terms.

  5. 5. These terms cover my words

Photos, graphics, charts, videos and source records are not included. Ask me about those. Anything from a third party belongs to its owner.

  6. 6. Keep it clear who is who

Please do not suggest that I work for your outlet or endorse it.

Confidential tips

Every story here started with a tip.

If something in your town, your agency, or a business near you does not add up, send it. Documents help, but a date, a place, or a name is enough to start. I read every tip myself.
